In December 2023, LaBarge Financial reached out looking for a magician for a corporate event that would celebrate their company’s 10-year milestone. The event brought together 350 employees, clients, and partners at an upscale country club in Maryland. Initially, I was booked to perform close-up mix-and-mingle magic during cocktail hour—but halfway through the evening, they asked if I could perform a full show for the entire audience. I said yes, of course.
Adapting on the Fly
Performing for hundreds of guests typically requires advance planning: staging, microphones, lighting, and rehearsal. As a corporate event magician, I always bring backup gear just in case. That mindset paid off. Though there was no tech crew, we adapted quickly and made it work. It’s not always about perfect conditions—it’s about delivering under pressure.
